By specifically investing in apprentices’ training and collaborating with schools, KMF not only supports the professional futures of young people but also strengthens the connection between education and practice. A particularly creative example of this commitment is the joint design and construction of a sculpture by KMF apprentices and students from HTL Villach. This unique sculpture visually enhances the new roundabout on Italiener Straße in Villach.

It is modeled after the wooden trophy for the Bruno Gironcoli Award and now graces the entrance to the town. The reinforced concrete foundation on which the 6.35-meter high, 20-ton structure made of rust-brown Corten steel rests was constructed with assistance from HTL Villach students. The project provided them with the chance to effectively combine theory and practice while gaining valuable hands-on experience. KMF’s main role involved the technical realization of the design idea, static calculations, and production. The project was executed in close collaboration with HTL Villach and the city of Villach.
